North Carolina Dribble Screen

North Carolina Dribble Screen Basketball Play

North Carolina basketball coach Roy Williams calls this basketball play the Dribble Screen.  The name sums up the object of the offensive set because it uses a shooter dribbling off a screen for an open three point shot.  I think you'll find this to be a nice quick hitter from the UNC playbook.

I've included both an animation of the basketball play and a video of North Carolina using the play against Wake Forest.  Wayne Ellington had made two three pointers in a row and Coach Williams was trying to get him a third shot late in the game.  Ellington got an open look via the offense, however, he missed the shot and UNC went on to lose the game to a very good Wake Forest basketball team.
