Sideline Inbounds Basketball Play

The following diagram is a sideline out of bounds play used by former Iowa St. University Head Basketball Coach Larry Eustachy.  The inbounds play uses screens and ball movement to get an easy lay-up or open three point shot.

3 takes the ball out. 4 screens across for 5 and 1 screens across for 2. 3 passes to 5 and steps to the wing. 3 will remain near the wing to keep his/her defender out of the play.

5 passes to 4 and 1 cuts to the wing to receive the pass. 2 sets a backscreen for 5, who dives to the block for a lay-up.

I noticed I left out an option in the diagram.  Once 4 passes to 1 on the wing he/she will screen down for 2 after 2 sets the back screen for 5.

This will give 1 the option of hitting 5 for the lay-up or hitting 2 coming off the screen from 4.
